
We have selected fiddler and teacher Rose Conway Flanagan of New York as this year’s recipient of the Irish Artist in America Achievement Award. The award is presented by the Traditional Irish Music Education Society (TIMES) to individuals who have advanced the learning and performance of traditional Irish music in the United States.
Rose is a former instructor at the O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat having taught back in 2011. She has taught fiddle at every major Irish music camp in the country and several in Canada and Ireland. Some of her former students are All-Ireland winners including another former retreat instructor and Senior All-Ireland Winner on fiddle Dylan Foley.
Rose was recently inducted into the Mid Atlantic Region Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Hall of Fame alongside her father Jim and her brother Brian.
