While Heather Carmichael was growing up, her mom encouraged
her to learn various massage techniques to help her grandmothers while they
were going through physical therapy after various injuries and orthopedic
surgeries.
A few years ago, she started spending time
around a lot more musicians, and began noticing patterns of pain while
playing/after playing their instruments, as well as common symptoms of
repetitive strain injuries. Heather wanted to do whatever she could to help,
and took the opportunity to pursue a career as a massage therapist.
With a primary focus on musicians’ injuries,
Heather’s goal as a therapist is to assist musicians in being able to play pain
free for as long as they possibly can.
