There are a limited number of housing options on campus. Particularly if you want a private room or cottage, you should register as early as possible. The online registration system includes a form for special housing request (e.g., handicap or no stairs). To help us accommodate as many students as possible and save you money, please consider sharing a room. The room rates are the same regardless of the number of occupants, however, we require at least one student or retreat staff member to be a lodger in the room on campus. No pets are allowed anywhere on campus.
NOTE: If all our rooms and cottages have already been reserved when you register, you can get on a waiting list by going to LIST and completing the form. We also have an official “retreat hotel” that may have available rooms.
Lodging at Hoblitzelle
(view locations on the map of the Hoblitzelle Campgrounds )
Off Campus Lodging
PLEASE NOTE: Lodging at Camp Hoblitzelle is reserved for registered participants only from Thursday, Oct. 17th through Sunday, Oct. 20th. In order to reserve a room or cottage at the retreat, there must be at least one enrolled full-time student, instructor or staff on the account holding the room during those dates. Check in for lodging begins at 4 p.m., Thursday, October 17th at the main retreat office in the Coffield.
If you prefer a more outdoor setting, tent camping is available (up to three tents, one family) in and around “Fort Tejas” next to the lake. It’s a wonderful place to camp and there are sinks and bathrooms available, but no showers or electricity. You are welcomed to shower in the dorms. Small BBQs are permitted if there is no fire ban. There is a two-night minimum stay required. See tent camping rates at FEES. You may camp on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (Oct. 17-20). Back to Lodging Options…
For those who would like to stay in their RVs at the retreat, you may park in the RV area on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (Oct. 17-20). A three-night minimum stay required. The RV sites are rustic. There is no sewer hook-up or dump station. Some sites only have 50 amp electric plugs. We recommend you bring a 50 to 30 amp converter plug in case it’s needed. There are only six sites and they are not level front to back. This should not be a problem for trailers, but may be challenging for vehicles. Alternatively, you may “dry camp” by parking your RV in the chapel parking lot and use the dorm bathrooms and showers for free – no reservation needed – no minimum stay. See RV parking slot rates at FEES. Don’t own an RV? You can rent one and have it delivered to the retreat. Go to Campers4Rent.com. Back to Lodging Options…
We will have several dormitories available this year. These are bunkhouses with a number of beds placed in an open area. Each dorm has bathroom and shower facilities. There will be different dorms assigned to females and males. Additionally, there are two counselor rooms with two bunk beds (four beds total) each in every dorm with a shared private bathroom between the counselor rooms. We also will have four rooms in the Ponderosa (women only) and Chaparral (men only) available for rent with three bunk beds (six beds total) in each. Please note that the lobby areas of the Ponderosa and Chaparral will be used as classrooms during the day. The beds for all of these lodging choices are twin size and you are required to bring your own bed linen and/or sleeping bags, pillows, and towels. See dorm rates at FEES. Dorm beds and the counselor rooms may be reserved for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (Oct. 17-20). Back to Lodging Options…
We have three motel complexes on the grounds available to our students — the Barn, the Alamo and the Hacienda. Each room can accommodate more than one person, so it makes good sense to try and find a roommate to split your costs. Also, Camp Hoblitzelle has a small number of fold away beds, so you will need to reserve one early and provide bedding for it. Email us for this.
This complex is the motel closest to the Music Conservatory where many of the classes will be held and was recently renovated. There are two kinds of rooms. About half of the rooms contain two twin beds are all located upstairs. The remaining rooms have two queen beds in each. All rooms have full bathrooms. Both require a four-night minimum reservation. Linens, pillows and towels are provided. There is a large meeting room, a kitchen and a laundry room. See Barn rates at FEES. Rooms may be reserved for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (Oct. 17-20).
This motel-style unit offers 16 rooms. Each room contains two queen-size beds, one twin Murphy bed, a private bath and linens. A central lounge area features a fireplace, chairs, sofa, big screen TV and kitchenette. This complex is across from the dining hall and a great facility for families. Minimum four-night reservation required. See Alamo room rates at FEES. Rooms may be reserved for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (Oct. 17-20).
This complex contains our most comfortable motel rooms. Each room has a king-size bed and private bath. Linens, pillows and towels are provided.
