Born into a family steeped in the Irish tradition, Séamus was immersed in traditional Irish music and song. It wasn’t long before he developed into an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, singer and Irish Dancer.
From a young age, he has been making waves in the fields of music, song and dance across the globe; performing in China, The USA, Canada, The United Kingdom and throughout mainland Europe. He is highly sought after for his versatility and skill in each of his disciplines, and has been seen performing alongside many renowned groups and ensembles throughout the years. He has had the privilege of performing with accomplished groups such as Cherish the Ladies, The RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Riverdance. Séamus has performed at prestigious festivals across the globe, recently as a guest musician on the 25th Anniversary Tour of Riverdance at The 3 Arena, Dublin and Radio City Music Hall, NYC.
Accumulating a total of 23 All Ireland Titles from the age of 7, Séamus has performed alongside the finest ambassadors of Irish Music on numerous tours and has contributed to numerous albums to date. He also has made regular television and radio appearances, including Other Voices, The Heart of Saturday Night and The Late Late Show.
Séamus is one of the few of his age responsible for maintaining the oldest style of Irish singing. “Sean-nós” or “Old-Style” singing, an ancient form of decorative Irish song, is of huge importance to him and he arranges and performs the song in a unique approach alongside his sister, Caoimhe. Séamus also enjoys exploring more modern styles of singing and has spent a lot of his time honing this craft.
A keen multi-instrumentalist, Séamus has entertained audiences far and wide with displays of rhythmic dance, compelling vocals and vibrant music. He currently holds the title for “Best Emerging Artist” with his sister, Caoimhe, at the national “RTÉ Folk Awards of Ireland”.
