Peggy Fleming has played traditional music for most of her life. Classically trained in violin, she was introduced to traditional folk music through “old-timey” American fiddle, which led to an interest in Irish music. She has played previously with the New Dallas String Band, Blackland Grass, Tinker’s Dam, Stone Soup, Waifs & Strays, and Loose Change. She now performs with the traditional Irish bands Jigsaw and Kinfolk (with her family) and is a member of the TIMES Band & Session Players. Peggy served on the founding board of the Southwest Celtic Music Association and was the first publicist for the North Texas Irish Festival and the founding editor of the SCMA magazine, Ceili. She has been a fiddle instructor for the O’Flaherty Retreat as well as for the O’Flaherty Youth Camp.
