Niamh Fahy’s passion for everything musical has been apparent since a young age. Originally from Ireland and now living in Austin, Texas, Niamh learned her trade from renowned fiddle player Antoin MacGabhann in her native County Meath.
Niamh performs and tours with Austin based Irish band The Here & Now alongside Chris Buckley, Rob Forkner and Joseph Carmichael. Niamh was a soloist with Riverdance for five years and has also worked with John Williams, Project West and Indian Dhol drumming outfit The Dhol Foundation.
Niamh runs a remote string recording business, StringPress, composing and arranging string tracks for bands and soloists around the world. When she is not playing music, she works as a music therapist for a counseling service that provides mental health services for children and families who have experienced trauma. Niamh taught at O’ Flaherty’s Irish Music Retreat in 2015 and is looking forward to retuning again this year.
