Lisha Willeng is a lifelong dancer and teacher whose passion for movement spans many styles and traditions. Trained in classical ballet, modern dance, and Middle Eastern dance, she later fell in love with Irish dance, where she now competes both as a soloist and as part of teams that have earned top placements in Worlds-qualifying regional competitions. Her creative spirit led her to found and produce the Diffusion Dance Experiment, a ten-year showcase that celebrated the breadth of local dance talent across genres and communities.
Though her professional life is in science education, dance remains one of her deepest joys—a place where artistry, rhythm, and connection come together. She shares that joy as a ceili caller alongside her husband, Jeremy Welch, leading dancers at the O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat, the North Texas Irish Festival, and anywhere people are ready to join hands and move to the music.
