Linda Relph has been in the Texas Irish music scene since she relocated from California to Texas in the early 90s. Her background includes Texas style contest fiddling (she was the California State Ladies Champion four times), Celtic Rock (she was a founding member of The Killdares), and, with her former band Nine-8ths Irish, was a forerunner of the popular “Green-Grass” movement (bluegrass & Irish).
She’s hosted Irish style sessions in both Texas and California, has been writing her own tunes for years, and is equally at home on stage with electric guitars, bass and drums as she is in a session at the local pub. Her solo CD, released in March 2014, includes a bit of everything, including a classical piece. Linda’s fiddling is quite in demand, and on her website (www.fiddlinda.com), she calls herself a “Mercenary Fiddler.” She is a currently a member of STRING THEORY IRISH, JIGGERNAUT, and is very much an on-demand player with other Dallas/Fort Worth groups, as well as being a regular member of the TIMES Band & Session Players.
