Jonathan Milton

Jonathan Milton is a performer, composer, and arranger of traditional and modern instrumental music. A veteran Irish flute and guitar player on the Austin scene, he’s an in-demand session musician, having played on records ranging from traditional Irish to singer-songwriter to rockabilly to electronic pop.

Milton’s solo album, “Just One More,” was released in 2013 to critical acclaim. He’s also a former member of Aidan, a legendary traditional Irish band which toured Ireland on the success of their album, “The Time is Right,” in 2013. Over the following years, he established a recording studio and composed a large collection of music for future projects. His current project is Run with the Hare, an Austin-based traditional Irish trio who will release their first EP in 2019 with Milton on flute, whistle, guitar, and recording engineer duties. “P. Joe’s,” the first single from his next solo album, “Keep Going,” was also released in February 2019.

Aside from performing and recording, Milton continues to teach and write about approaches to flute, whistle, and guitar playing for beginner to advanced students.
