Colm is an award winning piper from Carlow in Ireland. He began playing the whistle at an early age and progressed onto the uilleann pipes, learning from many of Ireland’s foremost pipers. He was selected by Na Píobairi Uilleann as the inheritor of Liam O’Flynn’s pipes, on Liam’s death in 2018. He is tasked with playing and taking care of this instrument, while carrying on the legacy of its music.
Colm has performed at many prestigious venues including in the National Concert Hall, Dublin Castle, Áras an Uachtaráin and Trinity College Dublin, to name a few. In 2021 Colm performed a private concert for President of ireland Michael D Higgins at his home where he was presented the 2021 Seán O’Riada Gold medal by the president.
Colm is a primary school teacher, however, recently he has been playing and touring in the U.S. and Ireland when he is not busy teaching in his local Carlow schools.
