
Bill Cummings has taught High School, Middle School and Elementary Orchestra in Flagstaff, AZ since 1982. Previously, he taught in Dallas, TX from 1978-82. He has co-directed the Northern Arizona Youth Orchestra and he has taught at Northern Arizona University Music Camp 20 years, incorporating fiddle classes the last 10 years.
He has played in the Flagstaff Summer Festival Orchestra, the Wichita Symphony, the Coconino Community College Orchestra, the Wichita State University Orchestra and the Flagstaff Symphony.
As fiddler in Traditional Blend, he and his wife, Patti, have been performing fiddle music together since 1986. Since 1998 their duo performance schedule has fairly filled both their schedules. They play and sing music from Ireland, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, and the Southwest Prairies of Louisiana (Cajun Music.)
Their duo performances include singing and dance tunes. Each year, they play more and more Contra Dances, and they enjoy joining the Trinity Hall Session Players when in Dallas.
Bill has studied violin with Clarence Shaw, Mary Lou Galen, James Ceasar, and Jerzy Kozmala and with many irish fiddlers including James Kelly, Brian Conway, Seamus Connolly, and Randal Bays.
