
Aoife Granville, who hails from Dingle, is highly regarded as a multi-instrumentalist and singer. She has performed, toured, and recorded extensively and is currently preparing her third solo album. Aoife is acclaimed as an influential figure in the contemporary Irish fluting tradition.
She holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from University College Cork and teaches, lectures and researches in traditional and popular musics, festival and folklore and has held lectureship posts at Newcastle University (UK) and at University College Cork. Aoife has been an invited lecturer and performer throughout Ireland as well as through Europe and the US and is currently researching an Arts Council funded project on the songs of West Kerry from Bailiúcháin na Scol (The Schools Collection).
