How to register for the virtual O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat?
The registration process has changed completely this year. Please carefully review the process:
When can I register?
Registration opens August 22nd, 2020 at 9 am CDT and will continue until the retreat ends on November 8th, 2020. All retreat activities will be recorded and will remain available to students through December 8th, 2020.
How and when do I pay?
We will use an online registration application called RegFox. You must pay in full when you register by credit/debit card. Nothing is reserved without full payment.
What is the new registration process like? Will I need to create an account?
Registration has been greatly simplified this year. You do not need to create an account, nor do you need to remember a password. Instead, simply go to the one-page online registration form, pick your classes and pay. Your email confirmation will show your payment and will also list the classes for which you signed up.
Are there Terms and Conditions for registering?
Yes. Please review them at TERMS.
Do I need to rush to register like in years past?
Unlike previous years, there is no reason to stress about registering in the first few minutes after registration opens. The only activities with limited enrollment are the live Instructor Q&A Forums.
What if I have a schedule conflict during the retreat?
All activities will be recorded and made available for viewing on-demand for one month after the event — through December 8th. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about schedule conflicts or about needing more time to absorb the material. Watch the learning material when you’re fresh and ready to learn! You can also watch them class as many times as you want.
Can I take multiple courses at the virtual retreat?
This year, you may register for multiple Core Courses, but you will be charged for each Core Course.
How do I register for Concerts, Enrichment Classes, Workshops, and the new Instructor Q&A Forums?
This year, signing up for a Core Course does not get you into the other activities. This allows you to sign up for only the activities that you want, thereby minimizing your costs. You will need to pay separately for the Instructor Q&A Forums. Paying for the “Extras” will grant you admission to concerts, informances, workshops, and enrichment classes. Student activities including sessions are provided in the Commons area for all enrolled students at no additional charge.
What to Expect after You Register
Immediate payment: When you register, your credit/debit card will be charged immediately. If your card is rejected, your reservation is NOT secured.
Immediate email confirmation with a receipt: As soon as your payment goes through, you will receive an email confirming your payment and reservations. Keep this email, since it is both your receipt and your reminder of the courses and activities for which you registered.
A few days before the event: You will receive an email with information on how to access all of the courses and activities for which you enrolled.
How do I change or cancel my registration?
This year, you cannot cancel or change your reservation yourself. You must request cancellations or changes by sending an email to email@example.com. Students are responsible for any processing fees that we incur as a result of the change: typically no more than 3% of the total amount refunded.
Please think carefully about your choices so as to minimize changes. If you must make changes, please contact us ASAP. We are an all-volunteer staff with limited capacity, therefore our ability to process late changes will be restricted.
Deadline for cancellations and changes: Cancellation and changes will be accepted through October 17th, 2020. After that, we will make every effort to process late changes but cannot guarantee them. Cancellations will not be available after October 17th. Due to the high staff activity during the retreat, late refund requests may not be processed until two weeks after the retreat ends.
O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat is for participants ages 18 years and older. Youth ages 12-17 years old may request permission to attend using the process described at Age Exception Policy. Once approved from enrollment, the student will be issued a Youth Approval Code to use during online registration.
Scholarship Application Process
If financial hardships are preventing you from attending, please see our website for Scholarships.
How do I use the scholarship when registering?
If you want to apply for a scholarship, you should do so as soon as possible and before registering. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be notified by email and given a unique Scholarship Code to enter during registration. This code will activate your discount.
If you register before a scholarship is awarded, you must pay in full. You will be reimbursed only if your scholarship application is accepted and only up to the amount awarded.
What technology will I need to participate?
In order to participate in the virtual O’Flaherty Retreat, you will need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone. You must have a decent internet connection. If you can watch YouTube videos, then your connection is probably good enough.
